THIS IS WHY LA FAMILIA’S 1ST THURSDAYS HAS BECOME THEE CORNER STORE OF THE CULTURE. 🚨🎶🕶👟👢🥃
For the past few years now whenever the Jiggy, music loving, cotton eating youth wanted to catch a vibe on a Thursday night, the culture would usually find themselves packing the streets and night pubs of Juta street in Braam.
No doubt this probably lead to many empty lecture classes, missed exams and assignments not being handed in the next Friday but just like a fiend’s addiction to drugs, the culture’s addiction to this Vibe would always keep them coming back for more.
Now there’s a new more potent Vibe flooding the streets and ever since the 1st Thursday of March, the 1st Thursdays of every month after that would never be the same again all thanks to three Young Kings that go by the names of Pheto Matlala, Nape Phasha and DJ Vato Kayde.
As the co-owner of the new culture melting pot at the high end fashion store La Familia, Vato has taken the aesthetics of the culture and art and fused them with the best in hip hop music to curate a vibe like no other in JHB and the results speak for themselves.
Before walking in the store on any given 1st Thursday night, you are guaranteed to be greeted to millions of Rand’s worth of luxury sports cars parked outside, from BMW M4’s Mercedes-AMG C63’s, G wagons, Ferrari’s, Bentleys, you name them.
After walking in through the doors you are immediately drawn to an ensamble of the Latest, Rarest and most expensive high end street wear on the market, from Supreme, Off White, Belenciaga, yeezys, Kappa, Gucci, Bape, Gosha Rubchinskiy, Louis Vuitton, Vlone and their very own Protect The Family.
When it comes to the music and over all atmosphere there, once again La Familia find themselves in a league of their own. From the celebrities that can’t help but pop in such as, Scoop Makhathini, Stilo Magolide, Da L.E.S, Amanda Du Pont, Tibz, Didi Monsta, Benchmark, J Molley, Nomuzi and many more.
Also Unlike going to the club where DJ’s never play your favourite song and you know you’re bound to hear the exact same kind of music playing over and over again like your “Panda’s”, “im in love with the coco”, “bugatti”, “bad & boujee” and so on. At La famila you know you’re going to Vibe out to your favourite song you are almost guaranteed to leave having fallen in love with a dope song you’ve never heard before.
This past 1st Thursday was no different as the theme of the month was Harlem jiggy and it had to do with ASAP Fergs Trap Lords merchandise. Whatever you think you’re doing the next 1st Thursday of October, Cancel it and make a plan to be at the next La Familia event. You will not regret it.
