WHY AKA IS THE HIGHEST CALIBRE OF RAP MUSIC IN SOUTH AFRICA
At this point in time you either hate him or your love him, but one thing you can’t do is ignore him, The SUPA MEGA is the real deal,he is the highest calibre of RAP music South Africa has ever witnessed and with his new single "One Time" he has moved into the POP-world stratosphere ” "WHO GOT A BRIGHT IDEA TO CLOWN ME//LAST 5 YEARS AIN'T SHIT WITHOUT ME//MOST CONSISTENT//I GOES THE DISTANCE" The truth is that at this point in time AKA has moved so far ahead of all his pears and predecessors muscically that they either envy/hate/love him for his musical genius. DORO litterally has never dropped a wack verse/hook in his entire careeer(yes I spent the past weekend re-listening to 24/7/366,ALter Ego & Levels). Do you guys realise that within this new age of Hip hop 6 God and the SUPA MEGA are the only two people who have had this god-like ability to continuously drop flawless verses every single time they breath onto a microphone(if you don't believe me youtube every single song/feature AKA has done and witness the megacy).
"THEY USED TO CALL ME LEADER OF THE NEW SCHOOL//HATERS TAKE SO MANY SHOOTS I NEED A BULLETPROOF COUPE//OVERCAME SO MANY ODDS I REDIFINED THE RULE BOOK" AKA was the guy who raised the standard for South African rap music. I remember a time when I had no local hip hop music on my phone except for a couple of Jabba cuts(- 2009) but DORO changed all of that. He raised the standard for the quality of music within the hip hop world locally and all of his peers where forced to also raise the quality of their music, fast forward a couple of years later and South African rap music is on the fxcking come up. People are now actually not just making enough to survive from the rap game, dudes are really thriving and making bank from the culture.AKA raised the bar for the sonics just like Riky Rick raised the bar for the aesthetics locally. I mean even when AKA refused to be an opening act for International acts he began a paradigmm shift in the thinking of local artists and they began realising their true value as musicians and artists(I believe this paradigm shift inspired Cassper Nyovest to believe he could FILL UP THE DOME).
AKA has found a way to balance the ability to rap(spit bars) that are of a very high calibre while still dropping chart toping pop anthems (any single this guy drops ends up in the top 3 of any South African radio station) .With AKA about to release his new album this year we can only imagine the new levels he is about to take the game to. From us here at GSI we applaud the Genius that is SUPA MEGA and can't wait to see where he takes it.
"LONG LIVE THE SUPA MEGA,LIVE LONG!!!"
