"2016 run will be my last tour and last shows," Avicii announced. Going a bit deeper into his reasons for leaving, the DJ explained that his choices and career were never driven by material posessions. Now, after traveling around the world and performing in various venues, he plans to leave the life and career of luxury behind. "I have too little left for the life of a real person behind the artist," Avicii explains.
Avicii's retirement was made after an open letter was posted on his official website. The Swedish superstar DJ and producer had written a heartfelt letter detailing why he's stepping away. According to the Rolling Stone, he may be returning: "I could be back... But I won't be right back."
